The Field Service Representative (FSR) shall represent Tekgard professionally and courteously while Installing, Starting, Maintaining, and Servicing Environmental Control Equipment at Customer Sites in the US and abroad.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Set-up Environmental Control Unit (ECU) and accessories at customer site, including integration to customer’s shelters and equipment.
    • Provide Customer orientation on ECU operation.
    • Provide scheduled maintenance and system upgrades at customer site.
    • Troubleshoot system operation issues by investigating system set-up, mechanical operations and electrical/electronic operation.
    • Repair ECU’s in the field.
    • Prepare written documentation of service work performed.
    • Perform equipment service and upgrades at factory.
    • Support new product development by setting up and running prototype systems at factory or test sites utilizing high level refrigeration and electrical troubleshooting skills.
    • Understand PLC logic, use, and troubleshoot.
    • Assists in failure analysis & investigations on behalf of engineering by providing technical insight. Collaborate with engineering and quality to develop sound corrective actions.
    • Lead the training effort during customer training sessions by providing instructions for field replacement of components.
    • Maintains decorum, professional appearance, and professional attire while interfacing with colleagues and customers.
    • Sound verifiable work history and demonstrated capability of servicing and/or building Environment Control Units.
    • Exceptional attitude, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to articulate technical issues.

Required Qualifications:

    • High school diploma and minimum 5 years of experience providing HVAC installation, maintenance, and service including refrigeration circuit and electrical troubleshooting.
    • Military/DoD experience with an honorable discharge is preferred and security clearances.
    • Moderate computer skills are necessary to work with PLC controlled units as well as document service trips.
    • EPA Section 608 Certificate for safe refrigerant handling, brazing, welding and forklift experience.

    • As required troubleshoots electrical control panels, PLC faults, electrical circuits and component failures during assembly, performance testing and final inspection.
    • Performs EPA product quality inspections when requested.
    • Completes and maintains accurate inspection records for production and quality accountability.
    • Completes and signs-off traveler/router paperwork for completed work activities.
    • Assists the EPA supervisor to develop new production work instructions, assembly procedures and wiring methods for new products.
    • Consistently achieves required product quality requirements. Reports all product quality issues to management immediately after detection.

The Prototype & Production Specialist is responsible for planning, assembly and problem solving for prototype (first time build) products and low volume production orders. Works closely and collaborates the engineering personnel to successfully build new products that satisfy customer requirements. Determines best assembly sequence to support future production runs and documents all “as built” conditions to engineering. Assist production department to define optimum build sequence and work instructions.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Tests and inspects subassembly and complete control panels, power distribution units, remote controls and other electrical devices in accordance with approved work instructions, processes and procedures.
    • Responsible for a high level of machine assembly proficiency including mechanical, refrigeration, brazing and welding skills.
    • Basic electrical theory/troubleshooting.
    • Responsible for reading and understanding engineering drawings, bills of material, refrigeration schematics and technical documentation.
    • In collaboration with employees and management will be directly involved with:

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Collaborates with Sales, Program Management, Design Engineering, Planning (MRP), Procurement, Production and Quality functions to develop and/or optimize ERP system process flow and implement Lean manufacturing practices.
    • Provides technical/manufacturing insight and input to engineering regarding design for manufacturability in factory and product serviceability of installed equipment.
    • Assists engineering during new product development to document all drawing and BOM changes to ensure smooth production launch.
    • Organizationally partners with all functional areas to transition new products to production utilizing the ERP/MRP system.
    • ERP/MRP work includes guiding and assisting engineering in the maintenance of part masters, BOM’s, Routings, attaching of link files, etc.
    • Assists Production Supervisors to analyze workforce productivity, identify workforce development needs, optimize space utilization, streamline workflow and plant layout to enhance overall facilities and maximize production efficiency.
    • Responsible to lead the 5S workplace organization efforts throughout the facilities.
    • Supports engineering and production functions for released products BOM accuracy, coordinating with all functional areas to ensure ERP/MRP system integrity.
    • Evaluates, analyzes, and improves manufacturing processes for enhancement of existing products, building robust process control into the operations.
    • Works with production supervision and HR to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
    • Oversees development of production workforce work instructions.
    • Evaluates and approves continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, cost reduction and throughput.
    • Established configuration control protocols for products to ensure consistency not only in part content but in manufacturing methods and procedures.
    • Establishes and maintains ECN/ECP protocols and provides oversight/training for ECN/ECP and revision control processes.
    • Provides technical support to production and quality to trouble shoot and resolve poor product quality and process flow issues.

Required Qualifications:

    • Manages and communicates all aspects of Project Monitoring and Control including profit, sales, entered orders, inventory, cash flow and working capital for the program. Monitors and Controls program cost, schedule and technical execution using earned value management and other best practices.
    • Provides project leadership in Project Execution, anticipates and resolves problems, and ensures inter-group cooperation to meet all program obligations and objectives. Interfaces with customers on all project issues including marketing, cost, schedule, technical, and contractual status. Manages and communicates status using MS Project or equivalent, Action Item lists, and leads Risk and Opportunity management activities.
    • Manages project Initiation. Recommends strategies for proposal preparation, negotiations, and pricing decisions. Leads Risk and Opportunity identification. Supports the contract administrator during major proposal negotiations.
    • Leads the Project Planning. Develops and executes a project execution plan, including stakeholder analysis, establishing internal/external project plans, project schedules, marketing strategies, budgets, and resources necessary to achieve project goals.
    • Manages the Project Closure Process. Supports the contract administrator during contract closure process. Manages the orderly closure of all subcontracts and purchase orders. Manages the disposition of all project assets. Documents and communicates program lessons learned and archives all project records.
    • Leads Lifecycle Management (LCM) implementation. Ensures LCM mandates are implemented for the project and ensures project documentation is of acceptable quality and completeness. Understands the project financial position and leads the project response during Contract Status Reviews.
    • Actively promotes a culture of safety, health, and personal well-being. Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety and environmental objectives and policies.
    • Familiar with and complies with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to ethics, export control, proprietary information, document/record retention, public communication, etc.

Required Qualifications:

    • Requires a BS/BA degree in business or engineering or a related field, with minimum 2 years total experience in a manufacturing environment. Attaining PMP Certification should be a goal.
    • Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day efforts effectively is inherent in this position.
    • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal and the ability to make effective presentations to senior management and external customers is essential.
    • Ability to solicit cooperation and achieve desired outcomes from the efforts of all project stakeholders.
    • Within Tekgard the individual must be able to manage and develop the human resources indirectly assigned to the project and interface effectively with peers and others in the organization not under his/her direct control.
    • As is the case in most Project Management positions, some ambiguity of responsibilities exists between the project and the functional areas (e.g.: Operations, Contracts, and Finance).     • A project management background is required. A working knowledge of product life cycle management and processes involved in each phase of the product life cycle is essential.
    • Knowledge of government contracting practices and regulations is essential along with an understanding of the DOD acquisition process.
    • The individual must have Microsoft Project experience and a working knowledge of MRP systems.  A basic knowledge of business finance systems is essential.

  • Responsible for identifying our Supplier flow down requirements and ensuring all production requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to improve supplier performance and qualify new suppliers.
  • Develop direct reports to continuously improve our Quality Management System and the Quality performance of our Organization.
  • Leads monthly team meetings and training.
  • Lead and support customer quality audits.
  • Responsible for Customer Satisfaction Survey program.

The Production Planning Manager position is critical to the success of Tekgard.  The Production Planning Manager has overall responsibility for all the company’s production planning, material handling, shipping and receiving functions, as well as the effective management and control of inventories to ensure both customer and Tekgard expectation are satisfied.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the master production schedule for the facility, reviewing daily to adjust for changes in customer requirements, delay in receiving raw materials, availability of production resources, etc. and establish a production plan which supports customer requirements
  • Advises appropriate parties in the plant, programs and sales of changes in the schedule.
  • Initiate a regular MRP run in accordance with a schedule approved by the leadership team.
  • Initiate shop orders by which to execute the plan that is established and approved including ROR orders.
  • Have material issued in a timely manner to support the plan.
  • Review monthly forecasts and adjusts schedules accordingly.
  • Coordinates all production schedules/changes with Production Supervisors.
  • Supervises, trains and evaluates Ship/Receive/Material Handling personnel by providing general direction, recommends and/or initiates personnel actions, ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures and performs resource management ensuring effective utilization of personnel and equipment. Develops, trains and analyzes activity of personnel to ensure compliance to cost, delivery and quality objectives.
  • Manages and directs all material control functions. This requires oversight and interface of the MRP system to that which is required to identify continued improvements to Production and material control areas, and future business opportunities.
  • Manages procedures and activities to insure accuracy and integrity in the accountability of government and company material. Ensures the maintenance of records and data essential to material programs including MRP are accurate and functional.  Assists other functional managers as they continue to improve their systems.
  • Responsible to develop and implement appropriate Inventory Control policies and procedures that balance Tekgard “readiness to serve” capability with unnecessary inventory investment. This may also include programs to achieve vendor consignment, stocking programs, etc.
  • Review inventory transactions required for shop order closure.
  • Resolve variance issues with Controller.
  • Interfaces with all necessary Tekgard personnel to successfully incorporate inventory management procedures. Provide any training deemed appropriate.
  • Interfaces effectively with Engineering, QA, Production and others as necessary, to incorporate all required Engineering or Process Changes.
  • Coordinate with sales order entry in support of customer parts orders (priorities).
  • Arrange shipments or deliveries as required.
  • Responsible for forklift maintenance and operator training.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in business or engineering or a related field, with minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with production planning/materials controls function.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP is required. Knowledge of Exact family of products, specifically MAX is a plus.
  • Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), National Association of Purchasing Manager (NAPM) or Institute of Supply Management (ISM) is a plus.
  • Ability to think strategically and at the same time, manage day-to-day efforts effectively is inherent in this position.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal and the ability to make effective presentations to senior management and external customers is essential.
